Descrição: Although Quiksilver's new women's collection won't be available in stores until early July of 2008, Quiksilver hosted over 300 people at the recently renovated "Quiksilver siteLA" to celebrate the beginning of a new movement that showcases the creativity of independent women of radiant vision. Visit www.sitela.org to share in the journey. It was quite a party (Tequila Herradura, Jack Daniels, Korbel, Finlandia, Peroni Beer, food, music, controlled chaos)...but also a great opportunity for the media and VIPs to get to know the 6 siteLA "Visionaries in Residence" and their projects. Pilar, the young singer/songwriter, performed solo and with her musical collaborators "Gold Cobra". Khrystyne, the auto designer, displayed inspiration boards and sketches for the concept car she is designing. Jesse, the architect, shared her plans for inner city pop-up skate parks. Sarah, the artist, displayed a hanging constellation of her "Glaciers of Nice" handmade books and a piece created by her collaborative drawing group "Sumi Ink Club." Dorothy, the bicycle activist, recruited people for an upcoming group ride and bicycle safety program. And Beth, the fashion blogger and entrepreneur, opened up her closet and screened a video from her "Vintage Society" project. Even CC Sheffield, our Fall 2008 model and an aspiring musician who lives down the street from siteLA, got in the mix by spinning records up on the mezzanine.
