Descrição: This is a Star Wars fan film starring my children Alex (8 yrs) and Noah (5 yrs). Noah is a Star Wars fanatic. He loves all things Star Wars!! He owns and plays with several Star Wars toys/figures. As a family, we have watched the movies a few times. But Noah loves them!! He watched them several more times; alone and with me! He is now at the point where he can name all the main and minor characters of the movies. He can also explain (as he often does unprompted) the motives behind the actions of various characters. He can clearly describe the difference between the Rebels, the Federation, the Republic, etc. Noah usually pretends to use the force to open doors anytime that we go through automatic doors at the grocery store, the library, etc. He is hilarious!! I am a grade 8 teacher, so I have the summers off with the kids. For the past few summers we have taken on the task of making various special effect short movies (using stop-motion animation, camera tricks, etc.). This year we decided to do a Star Wars lightsaber duel between Alex and Noah using his toy lightsabers. I then taught myself (with the aide of several online tutorials) how to use Adobe After Effects Pro to create all of the Star Wars special effects in the movie (i.e. green screen, chroma key, lightsabers, holograms, etc.). It took me about 5 weeks to create the entire movie from the very first screen tests/trial and error special effects to the final complete movie including all of the finalized edits and effects. On behalf of my children and myself, we hope you enjoy the movie! Note: 1.) The children were not forced to make this movie. They enjoyed every moment of the movie making process, except doing the re-takes. 2.) I am not a Star Wars freak, super-fan, etc. I do enjoy the movies and we own all six episodes on dvd. I love to learn the latest software programs so that I can teach my grade 8 students things like photoshop, flash animation, web-page design, etc. Learning Adobe After Effects will be the next program that I will introduce to my classroom. 3.) The children each put in less than 2 hours of work on the movie. I put in about 5 weeks. During that time, a few hours here, a few hours there, the children would often check in to see what it was looking like. They would also sit at my side (or on my lap in the case of Noah) and watch as the special effects were being created. It was a labour of love, but it was worth it. 4.) Please feel free to leave comments about the movie, the editing, the special effects, etc. However, remember that these are my beloved children. Do not leave negative comments directed at THEM!! 5.) If George Lucas or any of his legal team take offense to me using the original score from the movies, please let me know and I will remove this video immediately!!!! I am not doing this for profit in any way. I did not intend to share this with anyone other than family and friends. But one of my brothers said it had to be shared online.
