Título: Tornado at 10,000 feet -- Clear Creek, Colorado
Autor: denverreporter
Categoria: Notícias e política
Descrição: Rusty Stewart had never seen a tornado before. And the last place he thought he would see one was at 9,500 feet.
But, by the looks of this video shot by Stewart Saturday, Aug. 18 around 2 p.m., that may be exactly what happened.
The following video footage shows what appears to be a tornado touching down up York Gulch west of Idaho Springs.
The National Weather Service has not seen the video, but a representative out of the Boulder office said it is not impossible or unheard of. The highest reported tornado was seen in the Sequoia National Forest in 2004 by a hiker at 10,500 feet. If it turns out Stewart's catch was in fact a tornado it will be the first twister reported for Clear Creek County.
